About Diane Creekmur
-Diane Creekmur, Author-
Diane Creekmur grew up in Niles, Michigan.
Creekmur's love for children's fiction grew when her first grade teacher, Mrs. Helen Hoover, recognized her ability to write children's stories at a very young age.
Later, Creekmur pursued a Communications and Journalism degree at Western Michigan University. There she did an internship writing articles for a local newspaper. After college, the author continued a writing career submitting articles to the Grand Rapids Press and Amway Corporation in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
In 1991, Creekmur moved to Greendale, Wisconsin where she raised her two children. She went on to publish a major fashion spread for Milwaukee Magazine and worked as a freelance writer for Amity Leather Products Company and National Business Furniture in Wisconsin.
The author attributes the creation of Holly's Big Imagination to her own childhood beginnings. Holly's fantasy world is her personal encounter with imagination and how fear of the dark can manifest in a young child's mind. Creekmur, now a grandmother, continues to pursue her passion for writing in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
